On March 9, the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science collaborated with Women in Computing at Cornell (WICC) and Capital One to host Finnovation: Women and Non-Binary Contributions to Fintech. The event was open to all genders, and all Cornell Bowers CIS deans, faculty, and students were invited to celebrate women and non-binary innovators in technology.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. LeeAnn Roberts will serve as the inaugural Director of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science starting January 18, 2021. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Roberts served as Interim Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Central Florida College of Engineering and Computer Science. Dr.

Dear CIS community,

I am delighted to announce that David Bindel, Associate Professor of Computer Science, will serve as the Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion for CIS starting January 1, 2021 for a three-year term.

A $3.3 million gift from the Hopper-Dean Foundation will fund the creation of an Office of Diversity and Inclusion in the Faculty of Computing and Information Science (CIS), in addition to new graduate student fellowships and increased support for existing programs that foster diversity in computing.
