Outstanding Cornell students recognized by Computing Research Association

Each year, the Computing Research Association (CRA) selects four undergraduates who show outstanding research potential in computing research for its Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award (URA). This year, 15 Cornell students were recognized as honorable mentions, and one was selected as a finalist.

The URA is given to students in recognition of their research contributions, including conference presentations, papers, and software. Several students also serve their community as teaching assistants, tutors, and mentors.

Eric Chen '24, a computer science major affiliated with the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science, is one of 16 finalists for the award.

Additionally, the following 15 students were among 116 selected for honorable mentions; 11 are affiliated with Cornell Bowers CIS, while  four others  major  in math or operations research and information engineering.

Cornell had the most students with honorable mentions, receiving almost four times as many nominations compared to Harvard, Duke, Johns Hopkins, and Northwestern.
