Cornell Bowers CIS honors veterans

Veterans Day 2021

Leading up today, Veterans Day, members of the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science community have taken moments to pause, reflect, and recognize veterans and active members of the U.S. armed forces by signing an appreciation banner.

“It was amazing to see our community remember the honorable sacrifice and dedicated service of our veterans and their families” said Dr. LeeAnn Roberts, Director for the Cornell Bowers CIS Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

Community members will continue to sign the banner throughout the day before members of the Cornell Bowers CIS Office of DEI deliver it to the Cornell Veterans Association this evening.

Cornell has a proud military history dating back to 1862 and the Morrill Land Grant Act requiring every land grant institution to include military training in its curriculum.
