Breanna Green, a doctoral student in the field of information science, is a 2022 recipient of an Early Graduate Career Award from Cornell University’s Graduate School Office of Inclusion and Student Engagement and the Graduate and Professional Student Diversity Group.

The awards honor members of the Cornell community who have demonstrated leadership and commitment to advancing efforts around diversity, inclusion, outreach, and student engagement.

Advised by Drew Margolin of Cornell’s Department of Communication, Green is interested in the ways in which activist and extremist identities, ideologies, and communities are built and maintained using various social media platforms. Before arriving to Cornell, Green earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from Prairie View A&M University and the University of Texas at San Antonio, respectively. She also spent time working as a research analyst in the institutional research department of a large community college in Texas.
