Entrepreneurship at Cornell Celebration features CIS panelists

More than 700 alumni, parents, students, faculty and staff are expected for two days of on-campus events as part of the Entrepreneurship at Cornell Celebration, April 19-20.

The events include symposia on a wide range of topics including startup challenges, sustainability, digital agriculture and the power of networking. It also includes recognition of the 2018 Entrepreneurship of the Year and Student Business of the Year, eLab Demo Day, and the Business Idea and Plan Competition finals.

Cornell CIS is co-sponsoring a panel with CALS on "Digital Agriculture: How in the World Will We Feed 10 Billion People?" Moderated by CIS Dean Morrisett, the panelists include Liz Jones, Director of the Genomic Open-source Breeding Informatics; Karen Levy, Assistant Professor of Information Science, Justine Vanden Heuvel, Horticulture Professor; and Harold van Es, Professor of Soil and Water Management. 

Computer Science Professor Emin Gün Sirer will also serve on a Cornell Engineering panel titled "Bitcoin to Blockchain: Revolutionizing our Future."
