CS PhD Students Wins Facebook Fellowship

Kudos to CS PhD student Rediet Abebe, who has been awarded a Facebook Fellowship. The program is designed to encourage and support promising doctoral students who are engaged in innovative research in areas related to computer science and engineering. Winners receive two years of tuition and fees, $37,000 stipend, and $5000 in conference travel support. Rediet’s research focuses on algorithms, computational social science, and social networks. In particular, she is interested in using insights from theoretical computer science to better understand and implement interventions in socioeconomic inequality and opinion dynamics.
